Sto Nino Celebration

Leytenos To Hold Sto Nino Celebration in Victoria Harbour Ontario
The Leyteno Association of Ontario will be holding its annual Sto Nino Fiesta celebration on June 28, 2008 in Victoria Harbour, Ontario.

Devotees of Sto Nino de Leyte are all invited. The members of the association have been taking turns hosting the Sto Nino in a novena all year round and towards the end of June hold a Fiesta celebration. This year, the celebration will be held at Sacred Heart Church at 388 Assiniboia St., Tay Ontario. It is in the area of beautiful Port Mc Nicoll and Victoria Harbour.

The celebration will start with an 11:00 am mass officiated by Fr. Gig Bandalan followed by a pot luck party in the church social hall. There are also plans also for a camping for members on or around June 28, 2008 in this lakeside side town in the heart of the cottage country near Midlands Ontario.

Presentation of cheques to the recipients of Hamilton Filipino Community Center Calamity Relief Fund.

On June 10, 2006, during the celebration of the Philippine Independence at Chandelier Banquet Center in Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada, an official presentation of the cheques were made to the two selected recipients.

The recipient, picture above, Leyte Association of Ontario in support of their project to provide housing to the mudslide victims of Guinsagoon, Leyte. The amount is $3000.00 half of the $6000.00 collected during the fund raising drive in January and February of 2006. Receiving the cheque are Mana Choling Covacha representing LAO and Fel Marpa a local Leyteno and member of HFCC Board. Flanking the pictures are: Bonner Villabroza President & CEO and HFCC Board members: Erica Villabroza, Ernie Estrabillo, Naty Dayap, Dr. Dodong Cabilan, Della Labastida, George Santos and Jun Policarpio.
